Welcome Our New Deputy Superintendent, Jose Raul Valdez!

We are thrilled to welcome Jose Raul Valdez as the new Deputy Superintendent of Raymondville ISD! A familiar face in Bearkat Country, Mr. Valdez has dedicated his career to serving RISD, leading at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Under his leadership, campuses have earned multiple TEA distinction designations, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence.

Mr. Valdez is also a doctoral candidate at Texas A&M University-Kingsville and is expected to graduate this summer, further demonstrating his dedication to lifelong learning and educational leadership.

With more than 16 years of administrative experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and dedication to our district. His connection to RISD runs deep—not only as an educator but also as a proud parent of two Bearkat graduates.

Mr. Valdez is eager to build on our district’s success and continue fostering a culture of excellence for students, staff, and the community. Please join us in welcoming him as our new Deputy Superintendent—we look forward to the incredible impact he will continue to make!
