Raymondville ISD gets clean financial audit

Once again, the Raymondville Independent School District has received a clean bill of financial health from its annual audit.  “This clean audit reflects our commitment to transparency and careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars,” said Deputy Superintendent Benjamin A. Clinton.

“Our financial stability ensures we can continue delivering exceptional services and opportunities for our students and community,” he said.

The audit was performed by the firm Cascos & Associates, PC. Representatives of that firm presented the district’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report at a public meeting on Nov. 21.

The auditors issued an unmodified opinion, the highest standard for financial reports, often referred to as a “clean” audit. This designation confirms that the District’s financial statements and operations comply with stringent financial standards.

“There were no findings, and every instance tested was found to be operating as intended,” the auditors stated, emphasizing the district’s adherence to proper controls and processes.

Additionally, the report highlighted the district’s sound financial position. The Texas Education Agency advises districts to maintain 60-90 days of operational reserves in their fund balance. Raymondville ISD has 82 days of reserves, placing it well within the recommended range.
