Raymondville, TX – In celebration of National Custodian Day, Raymondville Independent School District (RISD) held a special Custodian Appreciation Breakfast on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in the RISD Board Room. The event honored the hardworking custodians who keep the district’s schools clean, safe, and welcoming for students and staff.
Board President John Solis and Board Member Veronica Munguia attended the event to express their appreciation. Solis welcomed the custodians and thanked them for their essential role in the district’s success. Drawing from personal experience, Solis shared that he began his career doing similar work, which gave him a unique understanding of their dedication. “Your efforts keep our schools running smoothly, and your work is crucial in creating a great learning environment,” Solis said. “I’ve been in your shoes, and I deeply appreciate everything you do, often behind the scenes, to make our schools shine.”
The breakfast, which included menudo, tacos, and a small dessert, was a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for the custodians. Each custodian also received a special goodie bag as a token of the district’s gratitude.
Following the district-wide breakfast, individual campuses continued the celebrations by recognizing their custodial staff with special acknowledgments throughout the day, further reinforcing how valued these team members are.
