Raymondville ISD is proud to announce the overwhelming success of this morning’s Million Fathers March, with hundreds of fathers and father figures participating across the district. Hundreds of fathers attended, and nearly 100% of all Raymondville ISD families were represented at the event, demonstrating the powerful impact of this year’s theme: "The Power of Presence."
Father figures, including dads, grandfathers, uncles, and other male role models, walked their children to school, reinforcing the importance of being actively engaged in their education. Each campus hosted a breakfast reception, where fathers took the Million Fathers Pledge—committing to remain engaged in their child’s education and support their academic journey throughout the school year.
Dr. Benjamin A. Clinton, Deputy Superintendent of Raymondville ISD, expressed his gratitude to the fathers who participated:
"I am deeply touched by the turnout this morning. Seeing so many fathers and father figures walking hand in hand with their children speaks volumes about the strength of our community. This year’s theme, 'The Power of Presence,' truly came to life today. Your presence has a lasting impact, and I want to personally thank each of you for making this event such a success."
Research consistently shows that children perform better academically and socially when their fathers are actively involved in their education. The Million Fathers March was a perfect opportunity for families to come together and set the tone for continued involvement throughout the school year. Raymondville ISD looks forward to building on this momentum and continuing to strengthen partnerships with families to ensure the best outcomes for all students.
