The Raymondville ISD Bearkat Band is making history!

The Raymondville ISD Bearkat Band is making history! With a laundry list of recent accomplishments, the Bearkat Band has established itself as a powerhouse in the world of music. Under the guidance of a dedicated team of directors, the program has earned the UIL Sweepstakes award for three consecutive years in Marching, Concert, and SightReading, a feat that has never been accomplished before in the school's history. But the Raymondville Bearkat Band isn't just about winning awards; it's about building a strong sense of community, developing lifelong skills, and having fun while doing it. From performing at various festivals to participating in individual competitions, the band has consistently demonstrated excellence in all areas of music. The program's marching band has achieved an impressive series of victories, including the UIL Pigskin Jubilee, Division 1 for three consecutive years, as well as the UIL Area Marching Contest for three consecutive years. The 2022 Odem Marching Festival saw the band claim the runner-up Grand Champion title and second place in Class 4A and Colorguard. The band also placed second in Class 4A and Colorguard at the 2022 Pre-Pigskin event and took first place in percussion and drum major at the 2022 Calallen Marching Festival. The Raymondville Bearkat Band also shone at individual competitions, with a total of 17 high school students qualifying for the HS All-Region in the 2022-2023 academic year. The middle school program also performed exceptionally well, with 27 students qualifying for the MS All-Region in the 2021-2022 academic year, the most in school history. In addition to these accomplishments, the band has also excelled in UIL Solo and Ensemble competitions, with a total of 105 UIL Region Medalists and 38 UIL State Qualifiers in Spring 2023. The program also has a thriving TECA Winterguard that was a State Finals Qualifier in the Spring of 2022, and a State Finals Qualifier again this Spring 2023. Finally, the Raymondville Bearkat Band has earned the UIL Sweepstakes award for a remarkable three consecutive years in Marching, Concert, and Sight-Reading! This is an incredible achievement that speaks to the band's commitment to excellence and dedication to the craft of music.
